Katy decided on an ivory and green bouquet consisting of dendrobium orchids and greenery.
Katy‘s bridesmaids wore tea-length, chocolate-brown dresses and carried bouquets that included green dendrobium orchids.
Katy‘s bridesmaids carried smaller versions of her bouquet finished off with ivory fabric and a chocolate-brown ribbon wrapped around the stems.
The couple had a difficult time finding a wedding location until they stumbled on this rustic private residence that had the facilities fit for an outdoor wedding and an indoor reception, just as they‘d hoped.
Katy and Kelsey decided to marry at a rustic barn in Hidden Springs, Idaho, which was exactly the setting they‘d envisioned for their big day. As an added personal touch, Katy‘s father, a pastor, performed the ceremony.
Because the ceremony setting was so rustic, Katy wanted to keep the decor casual. An arch draped in white fabric and greenery was the focal point of the space. Purple fountain grass planters assembled by Katy‘s mother marked the beginning and end of the aisle.
Guests dropped their greeting cards in an antique birdcage on the gift table. Little touches like this helped weave in the rustic, casual theme throughout the day.
The couple chose David Gray‘s "This Year‘s Love," as their first-dance song.
Katy and Kelsey‘s two-tiered wedding cake incorporated their signature color scheme. The cake‘s tiers were encircled in chocolate-brown ribbon and a green floral topper, which provided a pop of color.
Katy and Kelsey met during high school, but it wasn't until Katy's older sister's wedding several years later that they reconnected. By the end of the night Kelsey told Katy he was going to marry her someday.

Five years later, Kelsey arranged a big party for Katy's birthday with family and friends. There was just one problem, Katy was in the middle of an important graduate school project and had no interest in going. But Kelsey finally convinced her. During the festivities, Kelsey showed guests a video of all his skiing adventures, and at the end of the tape, when he was perched atop Pebble Creek Mountain, Kelsey pulled out a sign that read, "Will you marry me?" Stunned, Katy looked up from the video and answered yes!
